Wildfire Resilience Grant

The Coastal Conservancy’sWildfire Resilience Program supports local partners to develop and implement projects that improve forest health and reduce the risk of catastrophic fire in areas where people are living near wildlands. The Conservancy will fund a wide range of activities to plan, accelerate, and support implementation of land and vegetation management activities to reduce wildfire risk to communities.

Enhance LA County’s Environment with EEM Grants

The Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation (EEM) Program, administered by the California Natural Resources Agency, offers grants to support projects that mitigate environmental impacts of transportation facilities. With approximately $8 million available this cycle, eligible applicants in Los Angeles County—including local governments and nonprofits—can apply for funding up to $750,000 for development projects and up to $1 million for land acquisition projects.  

Key Details: 

  • Urban Forestry: Initiatives like tree planting to offset vehicular emissions. 
  • Resource Lands: Acquisition or enhancement of natural areas affected by transportation projects. 
  • Mitigation Projects Beyond the Scope of the Lead Agency: Projects addressing environmental impacts not covered by the primary transportation project agency. 

Application Deadline: July 16, 2025

Land and Climate Grant Program for LA County Land Trusts

The Land Trust Alliance and Open Space Institute are offering grants through the 2025 Land and Climate Grant Program to support land trusts in Los Angeles County. These grants aim to integrate climate change considerations into land conservation, stewardship, policy, or communications plans, focusing on issues such as habitat resilience, carbon mitigation, renewable energy siting, and community adaptation to climate impacts like extreme heat, drought, and wildfires.  

Key Details: 

  • Eligibility: Land Trust Alliance member land trusts and affiliate state land trust associations in good standing.  
  • Application Deadline: June 16, 2025.  
  • Notification of Decisions: By August 31, 2025. 
  • Applications must be submitted through the Land Trust Alliance’s grant portal, Foundant.  

This program encourages projects that address the disproportionate burdens of climate change on communities of color and low-income communities.
