Community Resilience Centers Round 2
The California Strategic Growth Council’s Community Resilience Centers Program – Round 2 is now accepting applications for both Planning Grants and Implementation Grants to help communities prepare for and respond to climate emergencies.
This opportunity is a strong fit for Los Angeles County projects that support neighborhood-scale resilience hubs, cooling centers, emergency preparedness facilities, community-serving upgrades, year-round resilience programming, and safe places for residents during extreme heat, wildfire smoke, power outages, flooding, and other climate-related emergencies.
Planning Grants range from $100,000 to $500,000 and support community engagement, project planning, partnerships, and readiness for future construction or retrofit work. Implementation Grants range from $1 million to $10 million and can fund new construction, facility upgrades, campus amenities, programs, services, and evaluation.
Planning Grant applications are due September 4, 2026. Implementation Grant applications are due September 25, 2026.

WaterSMART Water Supply and Drought Resilience Funding
The Bureau of Reclamation has multiple WaterSMART funding opportunities open to help communities improve long-term water reliability, prepare for drought, and develop new water supplies. These programs may support projects related to recycled water, desalination, drought contingency planning, drought resiliency infrastructure, water treatment, and other strategies that stretch limited water supplies and improve regional resilience.
Current opportunities include the Drought Response Program, due July 28, 2026, and both Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Projects and Desalination Construction Projects, due August 26, 2026.
Electric Vehicle Infrastructure and Outreach Funding
The California Energy Commission has two active Clean Transportation Program opportunities supporting electric vehicle adoption and charging reliability.
EV HOME funds electric vehicle hub, outreach, messaging, and equipment efforts that help communities better understand and access EV charging options. RECESS supports reliable electric charging for eligible school-bus sites, helping school districts and related partners prepare for zero-emission school bus operations. Grant efforts support EV education, charging access, fleet transition planning, and school transportation electrification in communities working to reduce emissions and improve local air quality.
EV HOME applications are due August 18, 2026. RECESS applications are due August 31, 2026.
