On June 23 from 10:30am – 12:00pm ET, DOT will host a webinar on how researchers can include equity in transportation and how the transportation system, service, and decision-making process impacts the lives of underserved and underrepresented communities. Register here.

Presented in partnership with the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities as part of their Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Informational Series, this session will provide information on transportation research programs centered around innovation and how DOT’s Innovation Principles will guide the implementation of those investments.

Speakers will include Deputy Assistant Secretary Dr. Robert C. Hampshire, Departmental Office of Civil Rights Director Irene Marion, senior executives from the Federal Aviation Administration, and Dr. Maryam Allahyar with the Federal Railroad Administration.  Participants will also hear success stories from two DOT University Transportation Centers Directors, Dr. Mansoureh Jeihani of Morgan State University and Dr. Mashrur Chowdhury of Clemson University, who actively address national transportation issues and educate the next generation of transportation professionals.
