The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is hosting a webinar to provide a general overview of the new DOT Reconnecting Communities Pilot (RCP) discretionary grant program, including an overview of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and the evaluation criteria.

The RCP discretionary grant program is the first-ever program to help reconnect communities that were previously cut off from economic opportunities by transportation infrastructure. Funding supports planning grants and capital construction grants, as well as technical assistance, to restore community connectivity through the removal, retrofit, mitigation, or replacement of eligible transportation infrastructure facilities.

This overview webinar is open to the public and targeted for representatives of entities eligible to receive funds under the RCP program, including States, local governments, Tribal governments, metropolitan planning organizations, nonprofit organizations, and owners of transportation facilities eligible for capital construction grants.

Opening remarks will be provided by:
• Christopher Coes, Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy, DOT
• Stephanie Pollack, Deputy Administrator, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
• Amit Bose, Administrator, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
• Veronica McBeth, Senior Advisor, Federal Transit Administration (FTA)

Please see the RCP website for a link to the NOFO, Frequently Asked Questions, and more at: https://www.transportation.gov/grants/reconnecting-communities

DOT will be providing American Sign Language interpretation, closed caption transcription, and Spanish-language translation services during this webinar. If you need alternative formats or services due to a disability, please email ReconnectingCommunities@dot.gov.
