Climate change may have a number of short- and long-term impacts on a variety of sectors in the Region, including, but not limited to, agriculture, public health, ecosystems and natural resources, energy, infrastructure, emergency management, and local economy. Therefore, it is critical to evaluate and incorporate mitigation and adaptation strategies in infrastructure planning to prepare for and build resiliency against the adverse impacts of climate change. Climate mitigation planning involves strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.  Climate adaptation strategies include evaluation of threats, vulnerability and risk assessments, identification of necessary actions, and implementation and maintenance of identified actions. The resources below can be used to support infrastructure planning through mitigation planning and climate adaptation strategies.
