Unleash the Next Wave of River-front Transformation in LA County!
Through Proposition 68’s Lower Los Angeles River (LLAR) Grants, up to $14.3 million in state bond funds are now available to spark urban recreation, habitat restoration, public access, and workforce development across the Lower LA River corridor. Projects must lie within 1.5 miles of the river’s main stem or tributaries and align with the Lower LA River Revitalization Plan (LLARRP). Award sizes range from $10,000 to $2,000,000, providing flexibility for both small-scale community-led efforts and larger structural interventions. Whether it’s converting underused corridors into greenways, restoring riparian habitat, activating trails, or engaging youth through jobs, this grant amplifies LA’s vision for an equitable, resilient, and inclusive river future. RMC (the San Gabriel & Lower LA Rivers & Mountains Conservancy) is dedicated to offering technical feedback at the concept phase to maximize alignment and competitiveness.

These grants reimburse costs for remediation of closed landfills, unmanaged dumps, erosion control, waste removal, fencing and security, site grading, leachate/gas systems, and more.
