
Transformative Climate Communities Round 6
The California Strategic Growth Council’s Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program – Round 6 will fund community-led climate projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions while delivering local health, economic, and resilience benefits. The program is especially relevant for Los Angeles County partnerships working on coordinated neighborhood investments such as clean mobility, urban greening, affordable housing, workforce development, air quality, community resilience, and anti-displacement strategies.
Round 6 is expected to include Planning Grants up to $300,000, Project Development Grants up to $5 million, and Implementation Grants up to $27.5 million.
Key dates include the expected NOFA release on May 29, 2026, Implementation Grant Pre-Proposals due June 30, 2026, Technical Assistance requests due July 31, 2026, and full applications due September 30, 2026.

Urban Greening Grant Program
The California Natural Resources Agency’s Urban Greening Grant Program is now accepting Round 1 Concept Proposals for projects that use nature-based solutions to reduce extreme heat, expand shade and green space, improve stormwater capture, and make urban communities more climate resilient.
Round 1 has $46.1 million available, with awards ranging from $200,000 to $5 million. Eligible applicants include public agencies, local agencies, nonprofits, special districts, JPAs, California Native American Tribes, public utilities, publicly owned utilities, and mutual water companies.
This is a strong fit for Los Angeles County projects focused on tree planting, shaded corridors, green streets and alleys, park improvements, stormwater benefits, cooling strategies, and community-scale resilience in heat-impacted neighborhoods.
Concept Proposals are due in RAPTR by June 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. PST. Full proposals are expected to be invited in July, with awards anticipated in December.

Wildfire Prevention Grants
CAL FIRE’s Wildfire Prevention Grants Program is accepting applications for projects that reduce wildfire risk in and near fire-threatened communities. Eligible activities include hazardous fuels reduction, wildfire prevention planning, and wildfire prevention education, with an emphasis on improving public health and safety while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The current Proposition 4 funding round has $70 million available and is open to nonprofits, public agencies, and Tribal governments. This is a strong fit for Los Angeles County projects such as fuel breaks, vegetation management, defensible space education, community chipping programs, evacuation planning, and other wildfire resilience work in high-risk communities.
Applications are due July 8, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. No match or letter of intent is required.
