You’ve Been Challenged
The White House announced the launch of their Talent Pipeline Challenge. They are challenging employers, training providers, and state and local governments to support equitable workforce development in the broadband, construction, and electrification infrastructure sectors. In turn, the Administration is committing to allow workforce development as an activity eligible for funding under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) programs. This is in addition to the $800 million already dedicated for job training. Learn more.
State Water Resources Control Board Updates
FFY 2022 Intended Use Plans
In mid-July the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) will release for public comment the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2022 Intended Use Plan (IUP) for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) Program and the IUP for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF). IUPs for the Supplemental SRF funding appropriated in the BIL will be released as well. The IUPs will be considered by the State Water Board on September 7, 2022.
Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program
The Notice of Funding Opportunity for the over $500 million Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program was released. States, cities, counties, special districts and tribal governments are eligible applicants. Applications are due August 8, 2022.
Emerging Contaminants in Small or Disadvantaged Communities Grant
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that $1 billion is available to states and territories in FY 2022 under the Emerging Contaminants in Small or Disadvantaged Communities grant program. States and territories must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) by August 15, 2022.
