It’s Infrastructure Week!

In the past, Infrastructure Week supported the ideas that eventually became the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Now that the law has been passed, Infrastructure Week is a time to learn about and celebrate the essential systems that keep our communities running.

Infrastructure Week is a nationwide event that takes place both in person and online. Check out Accelerator for America’s calendar of events to learn more. You can follow the online conversation using the hashtag #InfrastructureWorks.

New Tools

Equitable Transportation Community Explorer

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) released the Equitable Transportation Community (ETC) Explorer. The ETC Explorer is a tool that will help you understand how underinvestment in transportation affects communities. It uses data from the 2020 Census to assess transportation disadvantage in five areas: transportation insecurity, climate and disaster risk burden, environmental burden, health vulnerability, and social vulnerability.

USDOT Discretionary Grants Dashboard

The Discretionary Grants Dashboard is a one-stop shop for communities looking for federal funding for transportation projects. The dashboard lists all of the discretionary grant programs offered by the U.S. Department of Transportation, as well as the eligibility requirements and application deadlines.
